Story of gesture
Matušek, Jakub ; Horčicová, Monika (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
In my bachelor thesis I want to deal with the detail of the human body and the importance of this detail. The detail I chose is a hand in a gesture. I chose it because of its unique ability to convey information or emotions through gestures. A gesture of expressions can be expressed through gestures. From a simple disagreement to a scientific term. It was this aspect that fascinated me and I continue to follow it in my work mainly from an aesthetic point of view. The creation of the concept of the sculpture was procedural and arose from the individual steps that I took during the design.
Using virtual reality in design process
Hlavatý, Michal ; Novotný, Tomáš (referee) ; Augste, Jan (advisor)
Master thesis deals with the possibility of using virtual reality in the construction process and points to new possibilities for non-traditional controlling of devices. The aim of this thesis is to become familiar with equipment designed in ÚVSSR and technology using motion capturing. Subsequently, there is also aim to use the gained knowledge to design a software which uses virtual reality in the construction process of parallel kinematic structure delta type, which will have the option of touchless control and will analyze the progress of energy flow of devices.
A system for controlling a computer presentation using gestures
Němec, Radek ; Harabiš, Vratislav (referee) ; Čmiel, Vratislav (advisor)
This thesis attempts with the design of a device for contactless control of the computer presentation. In the first part there are theoretically described the methods of contactless computer control. The second part is focused on the description of different types of sensors and also the key elements for this thesis – the development board TinyPICO ESP32 and sensor BNO055. Finally, in the third part there is described the design of the device and gestures.
Depth-Based User Interface
Kubica, Peter ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Žák, Pavel (advisor)
Conventional user interfaces are not always the most appropriate option of application controlling. The objective of this work is to study the issue of Kinect sensor data processing and to analyze the possibilities of application controlling through depth sensors. And consequently, using obtained knowledge, to design a user interface for working with multimedia content, which uses Kinect sensor for interaction with the user.
The Painterly Gesture
Hon, Michael ; Dub,, Petr (referee) ; Houser, Milan (advisor)
Diploma thesis called Brush stroke demonstrates technique of materialization brush strokes in an open space. Center thought of the project is application of a specific technology, when color or another material is not applied on surface by brush, but pressed through surface. It is important, that gesture of painting act remains in the color matter. Project works with reflection of painting as an artistic medium, highlighting visual and haptic elements of the result. Thesis is based on invention of technique, it's demonstration and presentation in form of an exhibition.
Kinect-Based Desktop Controller
Czompál, Zsolt ; Široký, Vít (referee) ; Žák, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this master's thesis was to create a user interface that allows controlling the PC using voice commands, static poses and dynamic gestures. It contains an implementation of a natural user interface that emulates the functionality of the keyboard and the mouse. In this thesis for detecting and tracking the user was used the sensor Kinect. For implementation I have chosen platform Windows and the Kinect for Windows SDK with programming language C#. During the implementation and testing of the interface, sensor Kinect for Xbox 360 was used. The result of this master's thesis is a natural user interface that allows controlling desktop applications without using keyboard or mouse, and that is comfortable and user-friendly.
The Personal Motif
Vlčková, Tamara ; Zálešák, Jan (referee) ; Rathouský, Luděk (advisor)
In my bachelor work I focus on intimate communication. I am interested in the moment of detection and in a simple question: What makes sense? I'm interested in everyday situations and in a human body, which I display in different social situations and personal dialogue - with the audience, work, and man. The main motives of my drawings are personal stories that remind familiar stories, and transmit such information, which audience accepts and transforms in its own way. Important is a constellation of people and things, and also attitude, a gesture that creates the story. I mix reality, dreams, ideas, and questions - choosing aspects I tend to think about, that touch my feelings or that I fear. Equally important is the installation, where a personal space for watching drawings will be kept.
Absence
Machač, Petr ; Marenčík, Michal (referee) ; Zet, Martin (advisor)
Video Absence reflects the findings of theoretical thesis named Boredom. The basic situation is described as lack of meaning, will, interest and feeling. Video is an attempt at poetic reflection of such situation, which is characterised as aimless searching without finding. The main tools are empty hands and different kinds of ground. The void has been overcome through the gesture related to problem of gift.
Performance Art as a Border Form of Artistic Expression
Vatulíková, Andrea ; Daněk, Josef (referee) ; Havlík, Vladimír (referee) ; Chamonikolasová, Kaliopi (advisor)
While taking into account the field of study of performing arts, I assume that the category called „performing arts“ underwent many reforms in the 20th century, making it almost impossible to set clear boundaries between theatre, dance and performance art. Therefore I deal with their common ground that I call the zero point and that allows me to explore means of expression of human body and also time – space dimension of live action. The zero point is located in the pelvic region of the body and it is the center of stability, balance and life enegry. In my dissertation I focus on the analysis of physical trainings that work with the zero point in theater, dance and performance arts. Primary output of this work is then analysis of physicality as culturally encoded construct and the practical part of disseration is focused on the realisation of the point zero symposium.
Web Browser Control Using Gestures
Němeček, Jiří ; Zahrádka, Jiří (referee) ; Najman, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis describes web browser control possibilities using touchless gestures captured over Microsoft Kinect sensor. It presents gesture reading and analyzing procedures for further processing. Particular aspects of design and implementation of the sample application are also shown here. Final part consits of application usability testing summary and describes possibilities of its further deployment.
